Artist Statement

Falguni Bhatt acquired her Master's Degree in Sculpture in 1999 from the prestigious Maharaja Sayajirao University - Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda, India. Her art is a reflection of her training. She has never felt the need to be confined by any medium, so she believes it has no boundaries of form and technique. Her art is her reaction to the space and surroundings & each piece mirrors a particular moment of existence. Her work so far has been rooted in the coexistence of the old and the new; the conflict of leaving behind the familiar while stepping into unknown territories, exploring that quiet space between comfort and discomfort, and constantly trying to strike a balance has been challenging as well as fulfilling.
